Psychological Evaluations for Immigration Cases

At Therapy Evolved, we offer professional psychological evaluations for individuals navigating immigration proceedings. These evaluations are often a critical component of legal cases and are designed to provide clear, compassionate documentation of psychological symptoms, trauma histories, and mental health needs as they relate to immigration status.

Who Are These Evaluations For?

Therapy Evolved Can Help

We specialize in evaluations for a variety of immigration-related cases, including:

  • Hardship Waivers (I-601, I-601A, I-212)
  • Asylum
  • U Visas
  • T Visas
  • VAWA Petitions

Each evaluation is tailored to the individual’s unique circumstances and their legal case, and we work closely with attorneys and legal teams to ensure documentation meets the highest professional standards.

Please note that you will need to have an immigration attorney in place before we can proceed with discussing your case.

Our psychological evaluations typically involve:
  • A detailed clinical interview (completed over 1–2 telehealth sessions)
  • Standardized mental health assessments
  • A comprehensive written report that clearly outlines findings and clinical impressions • Coordination with your attorney when appropriate
  • Interpretation services, if needed, for interview and assessment sessions only

Evaluations are conducted by a licensed clinician trained in trauma-informed care and experienced in working with diverse immigrant communities. Our approach is culturally sensitive, respectful, and grounded in empathy.

What the Evaluation Includes

Interpreter Services

If interpretation is required, a certified professional interpreter must be provided. Interpreters must come from an established, accredited firm and may not be a friend, family member, or anyone personally connected to the client. This ensures neutrality, professionalism, and compliance with legal and clinical standards. Interpretation is only required during the interview and assessment appointments, not for the written report.

The cost is generally no more than $300 and can be arranged for and paid by the client independently. If Therapy Evolved is requested to arrange this, the costs will be added to the $2000 fee.

Please note that the final psychological report is provided in English only.

What to Expect

After your initial contact, we will schedule your interview sessions via secure telehealth and provide information about what documentation to gather in advance. The final report is typically completed within two to four weeks of your final interview, though expedited options may be available upon request.

Please note: Immigration evaluations are not covered by insurance. We offer a flat rate of $2000, which includes the clinical interview(s) and all assessment tools. Interpretation services are an additional cost.
